Have been here several times now, both in groups and alone. I like this place. The decor is bright and shiny, some might like it. To me, it's a little off-putting. But no big deal, really. The menu is HUGE - almost too huge. Hard to decide what to have. But each dish is described in detail, which I appreciate. There is a large selection of lunch specials, and most come with either guacamole, sour cream, or both, so you don't have to pay for a lot of extras. The Fajitas Cancun is their signature dish, with steak, chicken, and TONS of shrimp. It's a large meal and quite delicious. Speedy service with two exceptions: checking on me after I receive my meal, and on bringing the check upon finishing. However, the wait was not significant to cause me any problems and so I consider this a non-issue. The food is f*&king DELICIOUS. I have not yet been disappointed in ANYTHING ordered. Full, extensive bar. Try Cancun, you will like it. I can't wait to go back again.

Don't go here unless you want to experience terrible service and mediocre food. Atmosphere is your run of the mill Mexican place with bright colors to distract from the run down furnishings. Food is just ok. Service is laughable. We went there with friends for drinks and apps before an event, when we were seated we waited at least 20 min for him to come over to take an order. There was a sign advertising mojitios for $4.99. Two people ordered those, while the rest ordered other drinks. When the mojitios were ordered the server said he didn't know if they had those. We mentioned they were a special drink for the day per the sign. They were ordered, absolutely disgusting, and we were overcharged for them. Each person ordered their own app and most of us ordered some type of cheese dip or guacamole. He brought them out and when we asked for chips to eat them with he said they were extra. We clarified that when you order guacamole or cheese dip they do not COME with chips, but you charge people $2 extra for them?! He said yes so we, of course, had to pay for it or eat the queso with a spoon. One person ordered a la cart tacos and they were Taco Bell quality with a little meat and a few sprinkles of cheese and lettuce. Our bills were wrong as he was trying to overcharge us for random things. We all paid with cash as this is the type of place/guy who would probably fill in a little extra for a tip. Upon correcting him and paying our bill, it was mentioned that the mojitios (which sat on the table after one sip ) were unlike any we've ever had and not good, he said "well this is a Mexican restaurant, I don't know what to tell you". Rudest service I have ever experienced. There's isn't enough room here to list it all. At one point we were all laughing because of how terrible he was acting and we felt like we must be getting punked. Go there if you must but you have been warned.

Excellent Mexican food in large portions. I easily split a meal with another person. Very reasonable prices. There are a few different seating areas, but I recommend the basement, it seems cozier. Great selection of food. Even my Dad, who hates Mexican food, found something on the menu to suit.

My husband and I enjoyed a fun meal at this restaurant. I had the taco salad with chicken very tasty. Plan to brings friends with us next time.

In a nutshell: Good food, service so bad it borders on the comical. The atmosphere is your typical kitschy Mexican place, right down to the music. It's in a nice building right on the main corner of town. It's open and airy, quite nice, actually. Our experience did not begin on a positive note. Upon entry there was no sign indicating whether or not to grab our own seat or wait for a greeter. After standing there for a couple of minutes, a waiter finally noticed us and said something to the hostess, who was sitting near the back, glued to her smartphone. No apology, though she was pleasant enough. She left us with our menus without any offer of beverages or the usual chips and salsa. Hmm. The menu selection is overwhelming. If you have poor eyesight and forget your glasses, good luck reading it, since they chose a tiny font so they could cram everything into it. The huge selection is both good and bad. Good, in that if you can't find something to eat here, you basically hate Mexican food and should go have a ham sandwich. Bad, in that if you are in any way indecisive, your brain may go into vapor lock. My girlfriend and I fall into the latter category so often that we usually send the server away at least twice (which, I'm sure, they just love). So this should give you some perspective when I say that we made our choices and waited. And waited. And waited. Aaaand...waited. Finally our waiter, who looked a little like C. Everett Koop, arrived with the chips and salsa (decent chips, mild non-chunky salsa). His command of English must've been even worse than my knowledge of Spanish, since he dispensed with a greeting and simply mumbled something about drinks. My girlfriend, who DOES speak Spanish, was not impressed and spoke only English to him. We ordered our drinks (water and soda), and he eventually came back with a water but forgot what the other was. Once we ordered, the food showed up pretty quickly. We had Chimichangas Mexicanas and Pollo Toluca, both very good, with generous portions. The refried beans were a little runny, but the rice was tasty. The food compared favorably to other Mexican places around the area. Three and a half stars for the food. Again, the problem was the inept service. Like another reviewer, it was so awful we thought it was a joke and started having some fun with it. I am usually a pretty generous tipper, even if the service is only average, but my girlfriend threatened me with bodily harm if I did so for this guy. So, I recommend this place if 1) you like average-to-good Mexican food, and 2) you have the time to wait for a server to come directly from Mexico on a three-legged burro to take your order with all the enthusiasm of someone who just rode all the way from Mexico on a three-legged burro. Ironically, there is a mural on the wall with Speedy Gonzales with the caption, "Try our Speedy Gonzales!" If only.

Went to Cancun this past week and had kind of a mixed experience. My food was great, my girlfriend's wasn't edible. The service was really bad too. We only saw our waiter a couple of times. He took our drink and food orders and brought us our check. The bussers did most of the work it seemed. I had the Texas fajitas, which were outstanding. The portion was big enough to feed three people. My girlfriend ordered the nachos, which came out cold and had to be sent back to be reheated. When they came back, they were sans cheese, the chips were burned and the chicken was super dry. Rather than sending them back a second time we decided to cut out losses and just split my fajitas. I'm sure we'll be back someday, but not anytime soon.

I like cancun. I don't really get why it's not more popular. People love Los tres amigos but I actually prefer food from cancun. Its a little more dressed up and less americanized to me.

Cancun's food is just mediocre, and I can make better guacamole at home for less than what a small bowl of guacamole costs here. My real complaint with Cancun, however, is not the food, but the service. My husband and I visited this restaurant with his elderly grandparents. Our waiter was rude, impatient and laughed at us when we were confused with how our food was delivered to the table. He did not slow down or repeat himself when our grandparents could not hear him or process what he was saying. We were disappointed, to say the very least. If we visit Grand Ledge again, we will take our business elsewhere.

This is my favorite of the Cancun locations. They have always gladly made my favorite, the Ismael special with added mushrooms. I believe they don't even advertise the Ismael anymore, just the "Is special" which is just chicken instead of chicken and shrimp. Anyhow, the wait staff has always been courteous and the food has always been quite good. I enjoy taking friends and family here. Although their salsa is a bit bland they do provide a few hot sauces to tang it up a bit. The bar area is nice and they've got plenty of TV's for catching a game while enjoying a beer or drink. My only wish is that they would do catering.

Although the menu is the same as other local Mexican places, this location has the best food of them all. Try the chili relleno on your combo, it is very good and the sauce they put on it is delicious.

Overall, I give Cancun just a "meh" rating. Not outstanding food by any means. Service was not great either. I suspect that others feel the same way in that it was a Friday night at peak dinner time (7:00 pm) and they had quite a few open tables. The Italian joint a few doors down was mobbed. About 10 minutes after we were seated, a busser dropped off a basket of chips and salsa. No silverware or napkins. About 10 minutes after that our server appeared and took our drink orders. My wife and I both ordered frozen margaritas. The server dropped those off and left again. My wife's drink was ok. Mine didn't have even a hint of ice in it. We also asked for water. It never appeared and apparently was hanging out with the still missing napkins and silverware. We saw another patron walking through with napkins and silverware that he had retrieved on his own. He told us where it was and we did the same. Another 10 minutes and our order was taken. After maybe 40 minutes total, we had our food. My DW ordered only the appetizer chicken and cheese quesadilla. Decent amount of chicken, but the cheese was rather difficult to see. I had a shrimp "diabla" dish. Pretty zippy. The shrimp was decent and it came with flour tortillas, rice and a "salad" which was just a pile of shredded lettuce. Overall, not too bad. In summary, we might go back but there is no sense of urgency to do so.

Went for lunch. No crowd, fast service, waiter was friendly. I'm not a huge Mexican fan, but I ordered the chicken tacos and they were edible though nothing special. The shredded chicken was very watery and ate through the bottom of the corn shell turning the taco filling into nacho toppings (which I didn't mind). My group also got combination plates and said they were very good. I liked the chips and salsa, which is mild (good for me, not for others).

Consistent food and service keeps me coming back. The beer is cold, the tamales are very good. Carne Asada tacos also a regular option for me. There is also a dish with sauteed shrimp wrapped in bacon and smothered in cheese, you got to try that.

Service is terrible. Our server didn't even say good afternoon or hello or anything. He walked up said what do you want to drink, brought us our drinks, came back and asked if we wanted an app, which did come out really fast, then took our order. After that never saw him again. Some little bus boy brought us our chips and salsa at the beginning. Unorganized staff I would say. But the food makes up for the poor service. The portions are huge!! The menu is huge so it is very hard to choose what to order. I had the nachos cancun which were amazing and huge!! I highly recommend them. I would go to cancun Mexican grill for great Mexican food but the service needs major help!!

I admit I'm a bit of a Mexican food snob but this Cancun still isn't as good as the other locations. The corn tortilla was dry and the steak slices were flavorless. I gave two stars because if you're craving Mexican food, it will at least satisfy the craving.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
